Waiting List Application

You can add your child’s name to the Waiting List when they reach 5 years old. However, please be aware that at the moment both of our Beaver Colonies and both of our Cub Packs are running at capacity. We are currently recruiting volunteers to set up a new Cub Pack on a Thursday.  

We can take in around 20 new Beavers per year but currently have about 80 on the Waiting List, so unfortunately, we are not able to offer everyone a place. 

The Waiting List details are handled by a web based tool called Online Scout Manager.   Please provide all the details requested on the application form including your address. We generally provide Scouting opportunities to young people living in the local area, as defined by Douglas Academy catchment area.  (There are no boundaries for our Explorer Section - there are more details in our Waiting List Policy.)  There are 2 Scout Groups in Bearsden and 1 in Strathblane.  Find your nearest Group here: https://www.scouts.org.uk/groups/

You will receive an automated reply confirming receipt of your request.  If your details change then you can access Online Scout Manager to update them. 

We review waiting lists each term but do not provide regular updates on where your child is on the list.   We will contact you in advance once a place becomes available.
