How much is the subscription?

Where can I add and update my personal details?

We use a system called Online Scout Manager where you can add and update personal information. It is essential that details about your child are added to this system before they can join their first session with us. We'll as you to check and confirm these details once per term.

Does my child need to bring anything?

We recommend bringing water - some of our activities are energetic! Most of our Explorers wear trainers. They also wear a t-shirt under their Scout uniform so they take off shirts and neckies for games and activities. Please ensure your child's clothing is clearly labelled with their name.

Do you provide any food or snacks or should I pack these for my child?

No, we don't usually provide any food or snacks. 

Does my child need to wear a uniform?

There is no hurry to get a uniform.  It is available online or from Glasgow Scouts Shop or the online Scouts Store.  It is worth trying some on for size as you'll want it to last.

What is the Promise?

When new members are invested they make a commitment to scouting known as a Promise. Scouts is open to people of all faiths and of

none. We’ve different variations of our Promise, so everyone can make a Promise that means something to them, no matter their background or belief.

Are you looking for volunteers?

We are always looking to welcome new volunteers. We also regularly invite parents to come along to support our volunteer leaders.

My child is moving up from , how does this work?

We'll be in touch with a date and time to move into Scouts and we'll invite parents to a moving up ceremony to mark their transition from Scouts to Explorers.

Where can I find out what my child has been doing at the Icarus Explorer Unit?

We have an active Facebook group for Milngavie Scouts where we share regular photos and updates on the Unit's activities.
